Stacey and David had a perfect, clear fall afternoon for their ceremony in the garden area of the Estate at Florentine Gardens.
After cocktail hour and the bridal party and parent intros at the beginning of their reception, the happy couple danced their first dance to the Smokin’ Section version of the Ben E King ’60s Soul classic “Stand By Me”, handled by our lead vocalist Tommie.

Immediately after first dance, David invited his and Stacey’s guests to join them on the dance floor and the crowd enjoyed a medley of Frank Sinatra’s favorites including our take on “The Summer Wind”

We had our expanded Latin unit featuring the great Cuban sonero David Oquendo on board for the festivities that day. Oquendo and the Smokin’ Section got the latin dancers out in the center to the classic bolero “Alma Con Alma” then worked them up into a sweat to an always popular merengue favorite.

Around cake time, Stacey danced with her father to the sentimental favorite “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman as performed by our guitarist vocalist Mikey. Then the groom and his mom got their turn to “Through the Years”.

Stacey got the feeling on the Sam and Dave classic, “Soul Man”.

After that, things opened up as Stacey and the bridesmaids really got into the Smokin’ Section’s take on the ’80s classic “Jenny Jenny (867-5309″), and the crowd got worked up on “I Gotta Feeling”, “Just Dance” and “Love Train”. The salseros and salseras (and many other of Stacey & David’s guests) got their clave on to our version of the Tito Rodriguez/Eddie Palmieri classic guaguanco, “Bilongo”. After that the party built to a final boil with Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer”.

Patrick at the Florentine Gardens ran his usual smooth, efficient party, and it was fun for us working with the photographer Frank Manning and Reel Moments Video for our first time. The party came to a close with a reprise of David and Stacey’s first dance selection, “Stand by Me”, this time with all the couple’s guests joining them on the dance floor.
