For their big day in the Pennsylvania countryside, Tara and Scott had a perfect clear and comfortable mid-summer afternoon and evening. The setting was Lake Nockamixon in Nockamixon State Park and boats could be seen gliding on the lake from their ceremony outside and also from the deck outside the reception hall later on. This was the the Smokin’ Section’s first visit to this unique Pa. banquet facility/reception site, the Lake House Inn in Perkasie.

After bridal party introductions, Tara and Scott’s first dance was to Jack Johnson’s “Angel”. After that, Tara danced with her father to our version of the classic “The Way You Look Tonight” and Scott and his mother followed with us performing Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World”. Early on in the party, the doo-wop and 50′s music lovers (and many others in the crowd) dug our singer Tommie’s version with the band of the Sam Cooke hit, “Twisting The Night Away”.

A little bit later we performed a special request for the bride’s parents, the country singer Alan Jackson’s “Remember When”.

A big Smokin’ Section Disco medley including Barry White’s “You’re My First, My Last, My Everything and the O’Jays “Love Train” kept the dance floor filled….

Tara and Scott’s guests really liked their Funk and boogied to our versions of Earth Wind and Fire’s “September”, Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music”, the Commodores’ “Brick House” and Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”.

It was our first time working across from Pennsylvania based wedding and special event photographer/photojournalist Barton Paul and we had a good time in tandem with him. The day’s (and evening’s) events were expertly recorded on video by mediaWORX, who travelled from our general neck of the woods (out North/Central Jersey way). The crowd stayed worked up with our take on Billy Idol’s ’80s rocker “Dancing With Myself and AC/DC’s “You Shook Me (All Night Long)”.

Towards the end of the party, Tara’s father came up and requested Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On A Prayer” and we were only too happy to oblige. The guests definitely concurred with Tara’s father’s musical suggestion. We ended a fun party with Bruce Springsteen’s “Jersey Girl”.
